Thesis

Propagating spin waves at the micrometer scale

Summary

The goal is to fabricate micrometer-sized ferromagnetic waveguides and antennas, and to study the propagation of travelling spin waves through such micro systems.

Why my research is important

The study of spin waves in bulk media has been done extensively. However, to date, there is little work done to study propagating spin waves in the micrometer scale. The proposed work seeks to fill in those knowledge gaps.

Funding

  • Australian Postgraduate Award (APA)
