Careers in Physics
During a physics or biophysics major, you will acquire an understanding of one of the most fundamental and exciting areas of science. You will also develop skills in problem-solving, analytical thinking, decision-making, quantitative analysis and communication of ideas. These skills are valued by employers in many fields, broadening your career opportunities and flexibility. Recent graduates from the School of Physics at UWA have obtained positions as: research physicists in universities, high-tech industry and government organisations such as CSIRO, ANSTO, DSTO medical physicists in hospitals meteorologists with the Bureau of Meteorology Analysts with consulting companies patent attorneys teachers and senior masters physicists with international oil and gas and minerals exploration companies graduate entrants with the Defence Signals Directorate and Department of Defence
